Returning Instructors & Faculty
Returning instructors and faculty, including WCH employees, must complete
the appropriate orientation requirements before teaching at Wood County
Hospital.
Follow the section below that matches when you most recently completed
WCH instructor orientation.
Returning Within the Current Academic School Year
The current academic school year runs from August 1 through July 31.
Returning instructors/faculty, including WCH employees, teaching at WCH
with a clinical group of nursing students must complete the following
requirements:

Complete the
Instructor Intake Form

Complete the required online modules and documentation

If teaching on a different unit, complete a minimum of four hours of
unit-based shadowing/orientation

page to familiarize yourself with the content and guide your students
to the site

After completing the Instructor Intake Form and reviewing the
required modules, your requirements for the semester are complete.
Important Information for WCH Employees
WCH employees working as clinical instructors are required to complete
many of the orientation requirements listed on this page. When
functioning in an instructor capacity, you should never
wear or use your WCH employee badge or employee ID number. You must use
your instructor badge and instructor ID only. You should also never log
in to a computer as an employee. A separate login will be provided for
instructor use.
Returning NOT Within the Last Academic School Year
Follow this section if you did not complete WCH instructor orientation
during the last academic school year.

Reminder: To complete the process, perform the
glucose controls and dock the glucose meter on the clinical units.
Complete Clinical Unit Orientation
If you are moving units, contact Julie Shank at
shankj@woodcountyhospital.org
to schedule a minimum of four hours of shadowing on each clinical unit
where you will be teaching.

WCH Instructor ID Badges are validated when all applicable annual
requirements are met.

Student Parking
Specific areas have been designated for patients and visitors to
increase their convenience. Please park in the designated student areas
at WCH shown on the map. All students should enter through the Emergency
Department entrance only.

Student Clinical Documentation
Student Clinical Documentation is required for each clinical group.
Please include the instructor’s name, student names and clinical dates
with the
Clinical Tracking Log
and submit the documents to
student.nurse@woodcountyhospital.org
