Precepting Nursing Student Orientation

All pre-licensed nursing students seeking an individual preceptor placement at Wood County Hospital must work through their school and complete the orientation requirements outlined below.

Obtaining a Preceptor Placement

All pre-licensed nursing students seeking a preceptor at WCH must work through their school.
Students should not contact individual preceptors until they have been given direction and contact information by their school.
Students must meet all the requirements stated below.

Required Orientation Elements

Nursing students, including WCH employees, participating in a precepted experience at WCH are required to complete several elements of orientation. These requirements are listed below and repeated with greater detail on this page.

Complete online modules and documentation
WCH Orientation Module annually
WCH Basic Computer Access and Use Module

Orientation Requirements

Complete the Following Requirements

Complete the WCH Orientation Module .
Submit orientation documentation for these modules to your school or clinical faculty based on your school’s directions.
Print and sign the Student Orientation Attestation Form attesting that you have completed the orientation, are familiar with the content, and agree to the confidentiality statements. Bring the completed form to the Nurse Educator at WCH.
Complete the WCH Basic Computer Access and Use Module .
Glucose meters: Complete the Freestyle Precision Pro Education Module , the written test and an in-person return demonstration.
