During your hospital stay, you may be seen by a hospitalist, a physician who cares for patients in the hospital. Hospitalists work exclusively in the hospital and have no separate office practices. This means they focus all of their time and attention on meeting the needs of hospitalized patients.

Hospitalists manage patients’ hospital care by coordinating and consulting with specialists, monitoring the patients' progress, and staying in close contact with primary care physicians to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

Smoking Policy

To promote the good health of patients and staff, and to emphasize the dangers of tobacco use, Wood County Hospital promotes a tobacco-free campus. Do not smoke or use to tobacco products in hospital buildings or while on the hospital campus.

Cellular telephones may be used anywhere in the hospital. If interference with clinical equipment occurs, hospital staff will ask you to discontinue the use of the cellular phone.
