Robotic Assisted Surgery
Less invasive, less pain, less down time, less scarring, less discomfort, quicker recovery times
We have recently added the da Vinci Xi® 4th generation technology – the latest in robotic surgery- to our surgical suite.
Robotic-assisted surgery is minimally invasive and allows our specially trained surgeons to perform a wide range of delicate and complex operations through a few small incisions.
Utilizing an advanced robotics computer, this system allows the surgeon to remain 100 percent in control at all times. Each movement of the surgeon's hand is translated into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient's body.
Surgeries Specialties that may use robotic surgery
- General Surgery
In addition, the robot's 3D-High Definition vision system provides surgeons a highly magnified view, virtually extending their eyes into the patient. These advanced optics allow the surgeon to locate and repair damaged tissue that could otherwise go unseen by the naked eye, providing a detailed assessment of vessels, blood flow and related tissue.
These technologies provide unparalleled precision, dexterity and control for the performance of minimally invasive surgery.
With robotic-assisted surgery, our patients can look forward to:
- A shorter hospital stay
- Less blood loss
- Fewer complications
- Less need for narcotic pain medicine
- Faster recovery
- Smaller incisions associated with minimal scarring
The da Vinci robot was made possible through the Wood County Hospital Foundation.
