Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program

The Wood County Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program offers 2 phases under the supervision of respiratory therapists and an exercise physiologist. The goal of the program is to improve the quality of life for those living with pulmonary (lung) conditions. A referral from your provider is required.

Phase II

Focuses on patients through monitored exercise and education sessions. The exercise sessions are tailored to help improve strength and endurance levels to help with daily activities. The education sessions are tailored to help patients learn how to manage their lung disease through proper use of medications, recognizing changes in disease symptoms, energy conservation, proper breathing and pacing techniques, relaxation, stress management and tobacco cessation if indicated. Insurance typically covers phase II.

Provider reports:

Progress reports will be made available to the patient’s referring provider upon request as well as a final report upon completion of Phase II.
