Nicole Turkson, MD, PhD, MS, MPH, provides family medicine care at North Baltimore Family Practice and Deshler Family Practice. She enjoys the variety of family medicine, especially the opportunity to care for patients of all ages and multiple generations of the same family.

Dr. Turkson grew up spending time in her father’s primary care practice. That experience helped shape her approach to medicine. She believes strong relationships begin with listening and mutual trust. She also takes time to explain health conditions and treatment options so patients understand their care and can make informed decisions.

Dr. Turkson earned her medical degree and a Master of Public Health from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. She completed her internship at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, California, followed by her family medicine residency at Wright State University. Before joining Wood County Hospital, she spent nine years teaching in Wright State’s Department of Family Medicine.

After living in Southern California for nearly a decade, Dr. Turkson returned to Ohio. She is the mother of two young children.
