Wood County Hospital Receives Cancer Screening Excellence Award for 2025

Wood County Hospital has once again been selected as a recipient of the Cancer Screening Excellence Award by the Ohio Department of Health, marking the fourth consecutive year WCH has received this recognition. For 2025, WCH was among 75 organizations across Ohio recognized for its commitment to supporting screening initiatives through the Healthy Worksite Recognition Program.

The state of Ohio continues to focus on expanding access to education, resources and workplace cancer screening opportunities. Since 2020, the Ohio Department of Health has presented the Cancer Screening Excellence Award to organizations that complete the Healthy Business Council of Ohio’s Healthy Worksite Award application and demonstrate a strong, ongoing commitment to promoting cancer screening and preventive care.

These efforts include offering cancer screenings without requiring paid leave, implementing workplace policies that encourage participation in screenings and providing incentives, such as cash rewards or gifts, for employees who take part.

Congratulations to the Wellness team for their continued dedication to employee health. Through initiatives such as derma scan screenings, tobacco cessation programs and cancer awareness efforts, they provide important resources and education that help employees stay informed and proactive about their health year after year.
