September 2025 WOW Award Winner - Miranda N.
The WOW Patient Experience Initiative recognizes team members who engage with patients/families, visitors and employees in exceptional ways, providing a superior level of commitment and reflecting the values of Wood County Hospital. Miranda Neidhardt, patient accounts representative, was selected as the September WOW award winner for going above and beyond.
One morning, as Miranda was arriving for work, she noticed a woman sitting on the sidewalk outside the hospital. Concerned for her safety, Miranda stopped to check on her. Another passerby also pulled over, and together they made sure the woman was okay. Miranda offered her arm to help the woman walk safely into the building, and even offered to get a wheelchair, which the woman politely declined. The woman explained that the uneven pavement had made walking difficult, and she was worried about falling. Miranda stayed by her side the entire way to registration, making sure she got there safely. The patient was very appreciative of Miranda’s kindness and willingness to take the time to help.
The coworker who nominated Miranda shared how meaningful it was to see her take the time to help, noting that her actions reflect the teamwork, empathy and safety values at WCH. Miranda’s willingness to step in and support others shows her genuine concern for those around her.
Miranda has been part of the WCH team for eight years. Originally from Fremont, she attended Owens Community College, where she studied Public Relations and Marketing. She has worked in several hospital areas, including Dietary, the Welcome Center, the Call Center and the COVID-19 Testing Center. During the pandemic, she also helped with temperature screenings and supported multiple departments, always ready to lend a hand.
Miranda enjoys the smaller, close-knit community feel at WCH. Having worked at other area hospitals, she appreciates that WCH is just the right size to feel connected while making a meaningful impact.
Thank you, Miranda, for your kindness and for being ready to help others. You make a difference and show what it means to deliver a WOW experience.
