New Turf Installed for Rehabilitation Sports Medicine
Wood Count Hospital is pleased to share the addition of a new turf area behind the Rehabilitation building.
Officially installed in August, this outdoor space expands the resources available to Rehab patients of all ages, including athletes recovering from an injury or surgical procedure.
As patients progress through rehabilitation, functional training plays an important role in helping them safely return to their sport, work or favorite everyday activities. The new turf allows our physical therapists to guide patients through jogging, running, springing, jumping, agility drills, balance and coordination exercises and other activities designed to build confidence, improve mobility and reduce the risk of re-injury.
The larger space gives athletes and other patients more room to move naturally and complete functional training in an environment that better reflects the activities they are working toward returning to. Overall, it will help enhance the rehabilitation experience and support patients throughout their recovery journey.
Looking ahead, Rehab hopes to use the space for larger classes and programs beginning next spring and summer. We are excited to see the positive impact this new area will have for our patients and community.
