Labor Pain Management Options

Wood County Hospital's Family Birthing Center offers some of the
latest options in pain management for your delivery. 

Some of the options include:

Hydrotherapy - Immersion or shower

Walking - With the technology offered in the Family Birthing Center, you do not have to remain in a bed and can move around freely

Positioning - Including equipment like a ball, beanbag and peanut ball

Nitrous Oxide - A mixture of 50% nitrous gas and 50% oxygen that is inhaled through a mask and provides pain relief

Nubain - Pain medication injected or through an IV

Epidural - Infusion of an anesthetic medication through a catheter into the lower area of the spine which numbs the back and abdominal area
