Community Gardens

The Common Good/First United Methodist of Bowling Green/ Peace Lutheran Church of Bowling Green

The gardens are on the property of First United Methodist Church and Peace Lutheran Church but is managed by the Common Good. The program is organized by Megan Sutherland (419-341-0164, megan.sutherland.bg@gmail.com). The organization has garden work sessions from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursdays at First United Methodist Church and 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. during the spring and early summer at Peace Lutheran Church. The work shift is moved to between 8 A.M. until 12 P.M. during the mid-to- late summer. The produce from the gardens is donated to local food pantries. However, community members are also allowed to pick vegetables from the gardens for their own kitchens.

 

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Stony Ridge

The congregation has a community garden and some of the produce goes toward the church’s food pantry. Call the church office at 419-837-5115 for more information.

 

All Saints Catholic Church of Rossford

The congregation maintains a community garden and the produce is donated to the food pantry. Call the parish office at 419-666-1393 for more information.

 

New Life Community Wesleyan Church

The church has a community garden with fresh produce. The congregation welcomes low-income individuals to pick vegetables from the garden at their convenience. Church members maintain the garden on an as needed basis.
