Introducing to David Kim, DO, to Wood County General Surgery
Wood County Hospital is excited to welcome David Kim, DO, to our new office, Wood County General Surgery!
Dr. Kim comes to us from Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and is a member of national, state and local osteopathic associations.
With a strong commitment to compassionate, high-quality surgical care, Dr. Kim provides a comprehensive range of general surgery services. He is highly experienced in managing both urgent and elective surgical conditions, with clinical interests that include minimally invasive surgery, breast cancer surgery and complex abdominal wall hernias.
As a former Bowling Green resident, Dr. Kim shared that Wood County Hospital’s focus on personalized, attentive care drew him to the organization.
He emphasizes that successful surgical care is a collaborative process where patients feel informed, involved and supported throughout their treatment journey.
“I am dedicated to making sure both needs are met so that the best surgical care can be provided,” Dr. Kim said.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Kim enjoys martial arts, cooking and spending time at home. Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, he spent several years teaching martial arts.
When asked to describe his care philosophy, he shared:
“My duties as a general surgeon are to ensure that the patient understands their surgical issues, chooses the right surgery for their needs and feels reassured that I can provide the best possible surgical care. I am committed to holding my work to the highest professional standards and maintaining respect for every patient.”
Please join us in welcoming him to Wood County Hospital!
