For your convenience, free, high-speed, wireless access to the Internet is available via your personal laptop computer in your room. Guest user name and passwords can be obtained from the Unit Secretary. Public computers are available in the second floor waiting area.

During your hospital stay, you may be seen by a hospitalist, a physician who cares for patients in the hospital. Hospitalists work exclusively in the hospital and have no separate office practices. This means they focus all of their time and attention on meeting the needs of hospitalized patients.
Hospitalists manage patients’ hospital care by coordinating and consulting with specialists, monitoring the patients' progress, and staying in close contact with primary care physicians to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
To promote the good health of patients and staff, and to emphasize the dangers of tobacco use, Wood County Hospital promotes a tobacco-free campus. Do not smoke or use to tobacco products in hospital buildings or while on the hospital campus.
Cellular telephones may be used anywhere in the hospital. If interference with clinical equipment occurs, hospital staff will ask you to discontinue the use of the cellular phone.
Patients may receive calls between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. You may receive calls to your room by having the person call the Patient Room Access Line at (419) 354-8999, then entering the room number followed by the pound sign (#). Phone service for local outgoing calls is free from your room. For local calls, dial 9 and the number you wish to call. Long distance calls may be billed to a calling card, third party, or collect. For long distance calls, dial 9, then 0, then the area code and number. Public telephones are located in the front lobby, the Laboratory/Radiology waiting area, and the Registration lobby.
Internal hospital calls may be made by dialing a four digit extension number. Some extensions that you may need include:
Patient confidentiality is greatly respected at Wood County Hospital. An access code is required when requesting information about the condition of a patient. You can designate who may receive your access code. To promote uninterrupted patient care, please encourage your family and friends to minimize the number of phone calls to the nursing station.
The use of cameras in public spaces is prohibited.
Your meals are an important part of your treatment and are prepared according to your physician's instructions. Please mark your menu selections each day for the following day. Should you be away from your room at meal time, a meal will be provided to you upon your return. Be sure to notify your nurse of any special requests. We will try to accommodate your requests as allowed by the diet restrictions you may have. Meal times are:
Complimentary television service is available to each patient. A channel guide is available in the Patient Handbook folder. Please be considerate of others within the volume of the television in your room.
The Sentinel-Tribune is delivered daily to your room six days per week by hospital volunteers. The Toledo Blade is available for purchase in the Gift Shop.
