Dr, Robert Lavey is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University. Dr. Lavey has held both academic and clinical positions in radiation oncology at leading medical centers throughout the country. Over a 24 year academic career, Dr. Lavey was an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Associate Professor at the University of Southern California (USA), full professor at the University of South Florida (USF), and a Senior member of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. Dr. Lavey has been the Principal Investigator or Radiation Oncology Coordinator of 12 internationally conducted clinical trials sponsored by the U.S. National Cancer Institute. He has written over 40 scientific articles in medical journals and over 20 chapters in oncology textbooks. He has served as Committee Chairman in the American Society for Radiation Oncology and President and Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles Radiological Society. He has been an invited lecturer at international oncology meetings and/or guest professor at renowned universities in the United States, Canada, Europe, South American, and Asia. He is excited to now be the Medical Director of the Cancer Care Center at Wood County Hospital.
