Wound Healing Center

If you have a wound that isn’t healing like it should, you deserve special treatment. If left unchecked, these sore spots can develop into more painful and more serious conditions that could even be life-threatening. But there is hope.

The Wound Healing Center at Wood County Hospital offers specialized outpatient care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy for patients with chronic wounds and non-responsive conditions that have been present for weeks, months or years and show little or no sign of improvement with standard treatment.

Underlying causes of these wounds can be diabetes, circulatory disease, or burns or certain physical side effects from radiation, Osteomyelitis (bone infections), Necrotizing Fasciitis (commonly referred to as flesh eating bacteria) and Retinal (Eye) Artery Occlusions, and skin grafts among other things. Our physicians create treatment plans are customized specifically for the needs of each patient.

We are equipped and staffed to treat all wounds, with most treatments covered by Medicare/Medicaid, HMOs and other private insurance plans.
