Urogynecology
Incontinence affects millions of people of all ages. Many are embarrassed to discuss it, or feel it is a normal part of aging. But this isn't true. Incontinence can be helped. Wood County Hospital offers surgical and non-surgical services to help people who suffer from urinary stress incontinence (loss of urine that occurs when the bladder sense pressure, such as from coughing or lifting) or urge incontinence (an immediate and strong need to urinate)
Surgery
Minimally invasive surgical procedures are performed for women who experience urinary stress incontinence and urge incontinence.
Rehabilitation
Specially trained physical and occupational therapists work with women who experience issues related to pelvic pain, osteoporosis, urinary stress incontinence and overactive bladder using pelvic floor therapy to strengthen muscles and alter everyday habits.
Services include:
- Pelvic floor retraining (electric stimulation and biofeedback)
- Peri-partum pelvic pain
- Osteoporosis exercise program
