Who is a Candidate?
To qualify for bariatric surgery, candidates must have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or more or a BMI or 35 to 40 or greater with one or more major health problems which include:
- Type 2 diabetes
- High blood pressure
- High Cholesterol or Hyperlipidemia
- Osteoarthritis
- Heart disease
- Sleep apnea
