Surgery
At Wood County Hospital, we work hard to stay on the cutting edge of the latest advancements in surgery and provide the personalized care for which we are known. Our surgeons are supported by a highly experienced nursing team and the latest technology.
The center, which opened in 2010 has six spacious surgical suites and four special procedures rooms designed to integrate current and future technologies aimed at putting everything at the surgeon’s fingertips. The rooms are equipped with LED lighting and highly responsive temperature controls, allowing staff to tailor the heating and cooling of each room to the specific needs of each surgical patient. Surgeons can view radiologic images and laparoscopic and arthroscopic procedures on state-of-the-art, 24-inch high-definition (HD) video monitors giving them amazing imaging during surgery.
The center was designed with patient privacy, safety and comfort in mind. Those waiting for loved ones in surgery will receive a paging device at check in, as well as have access to private lockers in which to store their possessions. When the surgeon is ready to speak with them about the surgery, they will be paged; this allows them to leave the area while waiting.
