Three Wood County Hospital nurses received the Nurse Excellence Award on May 4, 2015 as part of the hospital's 2015 National Nurses Week observance. The winners were: Jodie Wint, RN for the Traditional Nurse category; Christine Wulff, RN for the Non-Traditional Nurse category; and Lori Tuck, RN, for the Leadership category. Now in it's fifth year, the Nurse Excellence Award is given annually to a nurse who is nominated by her peers, manager, or a physician.

Wood County Hospital has signed up to use CommonWell Health Alliance services to enable healthcare providers to see patient health data from outside organizations within its Cerner electronic health record (EHR). Patients who receive care at its facility will be able to give their doctors and nurses access to medical records from outside health care organizations that participate in CommonWell.

It provides 24/7 access to the electronic medical record WCH clinicians use to manage and document a patientís healthcare.

On Thursday, January 9, 2014 Wood County Hospital is hosting a free Brown Bag Day: Medication Safety Review program from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the hospital meeting rooms. WCH pharmacist Todd Leopold, PharmD, will give a presentation about medication safety. Community members are invited to bring in all their medications, over-the-counter and herbal products for review by pharmacy students from the University of Findlay.
