Eight hospitals in Northwest Ohio have formed Vantage Healthcare of Ohio, LLC in order to develop ways to improve care and efficiency. Vantage will enable its members to create new services, reduce costs, and provide easier access to healthcare in their local communities.

As part of its Health Matters Lecture Series, Wood County Hospital is presenting a program on Osteoporosis with family physician David Barnes, M.D. on Tuesday, January 29, 2015 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the hospital meeting rooms. The healthcare professionals at the new ReadyCare at Falcon Health Center provide treatment for minor ailments and injuries that need prompt attention, but don't require a visit to the emergency room.

It provides 24/7 access to the electronic medical record WCH clinicians use to manage and document a patientís healthcare.

On Thursday, January 9, 2014 Wood County Hospital is hosting a free Brown Bag Day: Medication Safety Review program from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the hospital meeting rooms. WCH pharmacist Todd Leopold, PharmD, will give a presentation about medication safety. Community members are invited to bring in all their medications, over-the-counter and herbal products for review by pharmacy students from the University of Findlay.

Nicholas G. Espinoza, D.O., has been named the new Medical Director of Falcon Health Center (FHC), the new $5 million student health center on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The FHC will be operated by Wood County Hospital and replace the present Student Health Services building on campus.

On Thursday, May 23 at 6 p.m., Wood County Hospital is providing sports physicals for student athletes going into grades nine through 12. The physicals are available only to students who attend Bowling Green or Elmwood High Schools. Cost of the physicals is $15.
