Since 1951, Wood County Hospital has been providing for the health care needs of Wood County residents with a mission of providing the highest quality preventative, educational and rehabilitative healthcare service to all.

The private, not-for-profit 196-bed general acute care facility serves a population of over 72,000 in Wood, Henry, Seneca, Sandusky, Hancock counties in Northwest Ohio.

Wood County Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.

Physician Specialties Include: Allergy, asthma, immunology, cardiology, dermatology, emergency medicine, family practice, critical care, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, internal medicine, neurology, nephrology, hematology/oncology, occupational medicine, pulmonary medicine, physical medicine/rehabilitation, otolaryngology, general surgery, bariatric surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management, urology, vascular, oral surgery and podiatry.

General Patient Services: New $42 million 100,000 square foot addition features 56-private patient rooms and a state-of-the-art surgical facility with 10 operating and special procedure rooms; obstetrical services including 24-hour epidural anesthesia, and LDRP birthing suites; intensive care unit with bedside telemetry monitoring; surgical services include traditional and minimally invasive procedures in the areas of general, gynecologic, bariatric, orthopaedic, urologic and vascular surgery; full service 24-Hour Emergency Department staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians; ReadyCare, an alternative for non-emergency treatment when the doctor’s office is closed.

Radiology Services: X-ray, nuclear medicine, CAT and PET scanning, fluoroscopy and MRI. Dedicated Women’s Center featuring digital mammography, bone densitometry, ultra sound and stereotactic breast biopsy.

Diagnostic Services: Stress testing, holter monitoring, echo testing, non-invasive vascular laboratory, lung function, cardiology, outpatient medication treatments, blood transfusions and IV antibiotics.

Sleep Disorders Center: Diagnoses and treats sleep disorders such as snoring and sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and periodic leg movements.

Rehabilitation Services: The most comprehensive range of preventative, restorative and rehabilitation health services available in the county. A full range of rehabilitation services are available in a spacious, state-of-the-art 45,000 square foot facility. Services include: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language Therapy, Aquatic Therapy, Pediatric Therapy, and Sports Medicine. Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services are also available.

Education/Wellness Program: A variety of programs are offered including lifestyle management disease prevention and early detection; exercise classes, childbirth classes and health screenings. Wood County Hospital is an approved American Heart Association CPR Training Site.

ReadyWorks: Work injury treatment, drug testing, employment physicals, screenings, industrial rehabilitation, health promotion and consultation programs for business and industry.
Wound Healing Center: offers specialized outpatient care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy for patients with chronic wounds and conditions that have been non-responsive to standard treatment.
