What to bring

What to bring

Here are a list of useful items you may want to consider bringing with you.

For Labor

  • Vehicle with installed car seat 
  • Cover for the passenger seat if water breaks
  •  Driver’s license, insurance card, cash or credit card, and any hospital paperwork, list of medications, and birth plan
  • Eyeglasses/contacts, bring case and solution, inhalers, any medical devices
  • Slippers or slipper socks
  • Relaxation tools: music/earbuds, body pillow, rice pack (hot or cold), squeeze ball, tennis ball, back massager, lotion, essential oils
  • Chapstick, hair ties, headbands, gum or breath mints
  • Toiletries: hair products, face and body soap, toothbrush/paste, etc.
  • We will give baby’s first hat for the ride home
  • Cell phone and charger 

For Dad/Coach 

  • Personal contact list: who and when should be called? 
  • Camera, cell phone, and charger 
  • Toiletries, medical devices, inhalers, medications 
  • Comfortable shoes and clothing 
  • Change for vending machines and snacks 

After delivery

  • Bathrobe, comfortable clothes
  • Additional socks for you  
  • Nursing bra or tanks 
  • Comfortable clothing and shoes to wear home (plan on clothes worn at 36 weeks) 
  • Babies going home outfit and blanket to place over baby once in car seat

Some items to have at home 

  • Peri pads, breast pads, breast soothes, lanolin cream 
  • Name, address, and phone number of pediatrician  
  • Vaseline if you have a boy for their circumcision
